Systematic Literature Searching: Introductory and Advanced Courses
Where: Freiburg, Germany

This two day course will offer presentation on databases and sources for medical literature, the use of search filters, searching in study registers and the planning and budgeting of literature searches. There will be a hands-on tutorial in searching MEDLINE via Ovid.

Practice of Evidence-Based Medicine

This workshop is an introduction to evidence-based practice. It is aimed at clinicians and health care professionals, working with humans or animals who want to gain knowledge of critical appraisal and experience in the practice of evidence-based care.

Searching and beyond: the Librarian’s role in systematic reviews

The day will include demonstration, discussion and practical experience on: systematic literature searching, the use of search filters, updating searches, finding qualitative information, double screening, reference management for a systematic review and PRISMA reporting of literature searches. We will also cover de-duplicating literature searches, document retrieval and search techniques for grey literature.

Systematic Review and Meta-analysis of Direct, Indirect and Mixed Treatment Evidence

The Health Economics and Health Technology Assessment (HEHTA) Research Group at the University of Glasgow is running a three-day workshop on systematic review and meta-analysis of direct, indirect and mixed treatment evidence. The course is designed for health technology assessment practitioners, health service researchers and healthcare professionals who are interested in learning the key concepts involved in the design and undertaking of systematic reviews and meta-analyses.
