Two new Oral Health Group reviews published in the Cochrane Library

The latest edition of the Cochrane Library is now live and there are two new reviews from the Cochrane Oral Health Group.

Adhesives for bonded molar tubes during fixed brace treatment by Declan T Millett, Nicky A Mandall, Rye CR Mattick, Joy Hickman, Anne-Marie Glenny

This review evaluates the effectiveness of different adhesives which are used to attach tubes to molar teeth for brackets and braces during orthodontic treatment.  Adhesives were evaluated by looking at how often the tubes came loose from the teeth during treatment, and how well they protected the bonded tooth from decay. Two trials were identified from the literature, covering 190 patients. Read the results, here!

Secondary bone grafting for alveolar cleft in children with cleft lip or cleft lip and palate by Jing Guo, Chunjie Li, Qifeng Zhang, Gang Wu, Scott A Deacon, Jianwei Chen, Haikun Hu, Shujuan Zou, Qingsong Ye

This review considers the effectiveness of secondary bone grafting for children with alveolar cleft, and considered the safety of grafting materials. Two trials, covering 48 patients, were included. Read the conclusions.
