The Cochrane Collaboration is advertising the following training courses as available for June:
5-10 June 2011 – How to teach evidence-based clinical practice at McMaster University, Hamilton, Canada
6-8 June 2011 – 3-day Systematic Review Course: Quantitative and Qualitative Evidence at the Centre for Methodology of Educational Research, K.U.Leuven, Belgium. A 300 Euro programme in collaboration with the Belgian Cochrane Branch.
6-10 June 2011 – Systematic reviews in health care at the Centre for Clinical Epidemiology & Evaluation (C2E2) in Vancouver, Canada. “This course is intended for clinicians, researchers, health care professionals, graduate students, librarians, decision makers, and those interested in undertaking a systematic review. It would also be of assistance to those wanting to better understand, interpret and use systematic reviews, for example professionals from pharmaceutical companies, device manufacturers and the health authorities. The intention of the course is to provide participants with an understanding of the key components in both systematic reviews and rapid reviews for policy makers.”
6-7 June 2011 – Introduction to writing a Cochrane review at Bond University, Gold Coast, Australia. “This two-day workshop is designed for new authors starting a Cochrane systematic review. A mixture of presentations and hands-on sessions will give you an overview of all the methods required to write your protocol and get started on the review.”
7-10 June 2o11 – Systematic review course at the University of Nottingham, UK. “This course will appeal to all those interested in completing a Cochrane-style review. Experienced tutors and facilitators will be available to give you practical and individual advice.”
27 June-1 July 2011 – Applied mixed methods & mixed studies reviews for health research at the Faculty of Biology and Medicine, University of Lausanne Institute of Social and Preventive Medicine, Lausanne, Switzerland. “This four-day workshop 27-28 June (Break : 29 June) 30 June-1 July will introduce participants to mixed methods research and mixed studies reviews, particularly systematic reviews.”
30 June – 1 July 2011 – Methods training event at the Robert Koch Institute, Berlin, Germany. “The workshop will use interactive techniques to facilitate training in the use of GRADEPro in developing ‘Summary of Findings’ tables. This workshop is intended for Cochrane Review Group managing editors, co-editors, methodologists, Centre and Field methodologists, consumer representation and anyone supporting authors conducting reviews.”
